AKJ is able to build from the water, right from a barge, so no matter how steep or rocky your shoreline is AKJ can work easily. AKJ can also deliver all the material needed for your project directly to the shoreline, whether it is stone, steel, wood or concrete. This noninvasive way to build means no heavy equipment is moved over your valuable property.

An AKJ-built structure will also be much stronger—an important feature on the often turbulent and unpredictable St. Lawrence River. AKJ uses driven or drilled piles right into bedrock if needed. You can be assured your dock or hoist will not move. In the past most docks were constructed of wooden cribs filled with stone. This type of dock is very labor intensive and slow to construct. Cribs also have a very large amount of surface area; this makes them extremely vulnerable to ice flows and changing water levels. AKJ uses round pipe piles, usually 8-10". Pipe piles are smooth, round and vertical. This reduces the surface area flow restriction and vulnerability to ice flows.

Driven or drilled piles are ideal for marine and other near shore applications. AKJ uses state-of-the art robotic pile driving and drilling equipment. This means your dock foundation or seawall will be constructed faster, safer and with greater accuracy than conventional pile driving equipment. You will have a sturdier, more reliable structure in place faster, and ready to enjoy for a lifetime.

AKJ Marine is fully insured, using impeccable building standards. We install Hi-Tide® Boat Lifts with capacities up to 120,000 pounds. Our foundations are made of A36 or A53 structural steel and we weld to American Welding Society Standards, so you know your dock, seawall, boat lift/hoist, or boat house is constructed professionally.

We can provide everything you need to build the right way. We’ll handle getting the permits, subcontracting, removal of old structures such as hoists and docks—we even have an on-staff dive team. AKJ can handle the entire project from start to finish.
